A Conveyance of the land in this title and other land dated 8 February 1898 made between (1) Robert Fletcher Housman and others and (2) John Laycock contains the following covenants:- COVENANT by the said J Laycock with the Vendors that he the said John Laycock his heirs or assigns would pay one half the expense of forming Alexandra Road and the whole of the expense of forming Regent Road as a public road shewn on the said plan and paving and repairing the same until adopted by the Local Authority so far as such roads formed part of the land thereby conveyed and coloured blue on the said plan AND ALSO the expense of forming and repairing the back roads 10 feet wide so far as the same were coloured blue on the said plan such back road to remain unbuilt upon and used in common with the owners and occupiers for the time being of the houses abutting thereon AND would make a causeway 6ft wide on each side of Regent Road and on the East side of Alexandra Road coextensive with the land thereby conveyed and lay the same with suitable flags and sidestones to the approval of the Local Authority AND that the houses to be built facing the Highway from Lancaster to Halton should be built according to the building line shewn on the said plan and be of similar class of house to the one built on the adjoining plot of land by Mr B Hargreaves AND that no building fronting the said highway should be used for any other purpose than that of a private dwellinghouse.
